300 days to go: limited-issue official licensed products to be released

(BEIJING, October 13) -- To celebrate the 300-day countdown to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) is to issue a one-time series of 11 licensed "countdown" products across three categories: insignia, commemorative badges and precious metal products. The 300-day countdown licensed product series will have a limited issue of 2,008 sets.
BOCOG will also release a series of close to one hundred assorted popular licensed products for the 300-day countdown in hot-selling categories like handicrafts, ceramics, silk products, umbrellas, and precious metal products, etc.
The purpose of the "Olympic countdown" licensed product series is to commemorate every significant milestone on the road to the Games in Beijing. With a relatively long interval between each milestone, and due to the limited-issue of the products, items in the "countdown" series have a high collector's value.
According to insiders at BOCOG, collectors can look forward to "Olympic countdown" licensed products for the 200-day, 100-day and 10-day countdown milestones as well.
